I started keeping a Casual Dad blog in the spring of 2007. He's a character my friends and I invented.

Since this is the Internet and I don't know who's reading this, I'd like to point out that Casual Dad's nasty streak is in no way based on my own father, who is as kind and pleasant a man as you could possibly wish to meet.
