Mandalas

Back in February 2004 I started doing these drawings of visions I had been having. They were these big intricate circular things radiating out of some centre point which appeared to be infinitely far away. I couldn't tell what any of it meant, but I figured it didn't matter because the drawings were nice to look at.

A friend of mine called Liam stopped by one day, and informed me that what I had been drawing were called mandalas, Hindu and Buddhist diagrams of the universe. The more I drew, the more I noticed that there were mandalas everywhere: on wallpaper, in churches, even on posters for music festivals in the 1960s. I figured it was all expression of the collective unconscious in the universal mind. I was getting quite interested in contacting the spirit world at the time.
I hope you like them.
